I’m a location photographer based in Cleveland, OH and I provide the photography you need to illustrate your editorial publication, annual report, or brand campaign. I specialize in shooting everything from portraiture to the performing arts. During the past 30 years, I have been a regular contributor to a long list of national publications which have included Business Week, Forbes, Fortune, Newsweek, The New York Times, and Reader’s Digest. In addition to editorial portraiture, architecture, and industrial photography I also provide photography services for The Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals of Cleveland. At night I am the house photographer for Great Lakes Theater Festival, Cleveland Play House, and the internationally renowned Cleveland Orchestra.
I grew up in the editorial business. My father was the entertainment editor at the old Cleveland Press and two of my brothers are photographers. I spend my evenings shooting dress rehearsals and concerts for the media just as my father spent his evenings reviewing theater. I shot professional sports for the wire services and moved on to freelancing for every publication I could find. During the first part of my career, everything was shot on film and I understand the magic of lighting and getting it right in camera. Editorial assignments included dropping the unprocessed film into a FedEX envelope for my picture editors to process and edit the next morning. No LCD screen to check every shot, just a piece of polaroid.
Today, I maintain several different digital camera kits for each one of my specialties. Everything from low light 35mm bodies with fast telephoto lenses to medium format cameras, tech cams, and ultra high-resolution digital backs.
